This Time of Epiphany

In days long ago
Some men went far away
to see a Promise long given


A cold and perilous journey taken
Removed from their homes and family
just to see a gift from Heaven


Today our loved ones far away
Fighting or guarding on a distant shore
They go to keep our homeland free


For while winter lingers, in these times we serve
Like all of history we need hope, a bright promise remembered
During this time of Epiphany.
