Scapegoats battling the Sacred

People today are hurting. Emotions tend to be very hard to handle when the weight of that loss increases in the time afterwards. We all know when we deal with such times that the gaping hole of hurt often is dealt with by throwing the most common or convenient scapegoat into it.

How do you feel after naming the blame of your hurt? The absence of the power of forgiveness burns viscerally as the heated embers of anger threaten to cook our very soul into a painful froth. ‘Stewing’ on such pain in a grudge increases your hurt. It threatens all entry of hope and battles the very notion of the sacred message entering the realm of your soul’s need.

PhotobucketBottom line: Don’t let your heart be troubled. The Friend who is a healer wants to embrace our hurts and fears. He who was shunned and rejected give us forgiveness freely so we can discard our scapegoats, take on the freedom of forgiveness and release that which pains us so.

May the message of God with us, Immanuel, come and give us hope. He gives us reason to band together, to support each other regardless of differences, and cherish the hope that Jesus comes again to reign in peace.
